Downloading media for Ipods and Iphones has become almost something of a pastime in itself. With such things as Pod Parties and Touch parties happening these days, it seems that Ipod and Iphone users are falling over themselves to see who can get the largest download collection etc. You're about to find out how to boost your collection.
The easiest way is to visit some torrent sites. These places have thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of downloads all free of charge and up fro grabs. The only problem, and it's becoming more of a problem each day, is that it's unlawful to download stuff in this fashion. It completely breaks the copyright rules, and so you can expect to face a heft fine and possibly a jail sentence if you are caught. Another common problem with these places is the state of the downloads. Most of the stuff is uploaded by users just like you, so you can find that a lot of the downloads won't be what you asked for and may be in some way broken.
The other big option is Itunes. It's not going anywhere, and Apple continue to announce great deals and download packages. True, it works out a lot more expensive than getting the stuff for free, but you'll get a larger selection and much much faster downloads. Also you won't be breaking any laws, which should come as quite a relief. You can think of this as a kind of middle ground, as these newer kinds of sites seem to offer the best parts of both Itunes and the torrent sites. Basically, it's like a torrent site, but you pay for a membership, and in return for your fee, the site owners keep the downloads well maintained and make sure the site is free from undesirable content (viruses etc). While it's true that these sites offer great value for money, they still aren't legal, and it hardly seems fair that these guys are making millions by giving away free downloads which are in fact illegal.
